Ayrshire started as a railway depot in November 1882. The town was possibly named after Ayrshire, Scotland. Ayrshire was incorporated on September 20, 1895. (163, 398, 438) Bb Badger, Webster County. Badger had its start when W. S. Fleming established a store and residence there in 1882. The town was named for the creek that runs nearby. The creek drew its name from a badger that soldiers had shot on its banks in frontier times. Badger was incorporated on December 28, 1899. (152, 438, 475) Bagley, Guthrie County.

39, 163) Black Hawk County (1847) was named after the Sac chief Black Hawk, most remembered for his participation in the Black Hawk War. Waterloo is the county seat. (48, 163) Boone County (1846) was named after Captain Nathaniel Boone, who explored the region. Captain Boone was the son of the famous Daniel Boone. The county seat is Boone.
